How can we train AI to identify rare brain lesions when annotated imaging data are almost impossible to find? At AAIC 2026, Yuan Cao presented our work on using synthetic training to segment cortical superficial siderosis (cSS)—a challenging haemorrhagic marker associated with cerebral amyloid angiopathy. The presentation marked an exciting milestone for the project and Yuan’s first medical conference since joining our lab. Congratulations, Yuan!
